EU MTC Certificate

The EU MTC certification is also known as EN 10204 certification, also known as pressure bearing material certification. Mainly a traceability source for metals and steel.

For all risk level pressure equipment, pressure component materials and accessories directly welded to pressure components, pressure equipment manufacturers must obtain a conformity statement from the material manufacturer to ensure their traceability.

According to EN 10204:2004, the types of inspection documents for materials of various components of pressure equipment.

Certification type

2.1 Type Inspection Document: A document indicating that the product provided by the manufacturer meets the requirements of the order, but does not include test results.

2.2 Type Inspection Document: The manufacturer indicates that the product provided meets the order requirements and provides test results based on non special inspections in the document.

3.2 Type Inspection Document: The document is prepared by the inspection representative designated by the manufacturer (unrelated to the manufacturing department) and the inspection representative designated by the purchaser or the inspection personnel designated by the official regulations. The document indicates that the supplied products meet the requirements of the order and provides inspection results. This type of inspection document allows the manufacturer to transcribe the relevant inspection results obtained from special inspections of its original and purchased products into the 3.2 type inspection document, as long as the manufacturer adopts traceability procedures and can provide the corresponding inspection documents required.

2.1 and 2.2 type inspection documents are documents in which the material manufacturer declares that the products they provide meet the requirements of the order, without the intervention of authorized agencies.

3.1 Type Inspection Document

3.1 Type inspection documents shall be issued by the material manufacturer themselves, provided that the manufacturer's quality management system has been specially assessed by an authorized agency and the relevant materials have undergone special evaluation. This section is coordinated with Appendix 4.3 of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC regarding the requirements for manufacturers and materials used in pressure equipment. After the quality management system of the material manufacturer and the materials meet the requirements, the authorized institution shall issue a 4.3 certificate, granting them the qualification to issue 3.1 type inspection documents.
