Bengal COC

The government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has issued a decree through the Ministry of Commerce to implement a conformity certification program for imported goods on the controlled product list, in order to ensure that the quality of imported goods sold in the domestic market of Bangladesh meets Bangladeshi standards.

On February 10, 2016, Bangladesh issued a bulletin notifying S R.O NO.28-Ain/2016， Belonging to the legal effect of Section 3 (1) of the 1950 version of the Import and Export (Control) Act.

Controlled goods must be tested in an accredited laboratory and the test report must comply with the applicable Bangladesh Standard (BDS).

The Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is used to demonstrate the conformity of a batch of goods after inspection, in order to accelerate the customs clearance process.

NormalTCI testing can assist exporters in obtaining a Certificate of Conformity (COC) officially authorized and issued by Bangladesh.

The regulated products include, but are not limited to:

(1) Ceramics and sanitary ware;

(2) Health and beauty products;

(3) Paper products;

(4) Food products, including milk powder;

(5) Switches and plugs;

(6) Building materials;

(7) Battery.

For products on the control list that arrive at the destination port, if a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) cannot be provided, they will be required to undergo port inspection and testing, resulting in customs clearance delays and the possibility of goods being returned.
